Commonwealth Celebrates Multiple Grand Openings

December 11, 2025

Over the past few months, Commonwealth and our property management companies have opened doors and hosted Grand Openings at:

Portside Lofts, Algoma, WI – Oct. 7th

Early October marked another grand opening celebration this year — this time at Portside Lofts in Algoma, Wisconsin!

Each grand opening we celebrate always proves to be rewarding in its own unique way — from introducing the first affordable housing option in a community, to witnessing the tireless efforts of so many people who overcome challenges to make a vision reality, to hearing personal stories of how these homes change lives, and appreciating all the big and small details in between that make it possible.

A heartfelt thank you to all our incredible partners and team members who contributed in countless ways to make Portside Lofts a reality for this community. Click HERE for media coverage.

Carrington Manor, Beaufort, SC – Nov. 18th & Fairhaven Summit, Asheville, NC – Dec. 4th

Both developments were originally awarded housing tax credits in 2021, when rapid construction cost inflation and rising interest rates made development exceptionally challenging—proving once again the perseverance and heart that our internal teams and external partners continually pour into each project when unexpected circumstances arise.

Through creative and collaborative problem-solving and grit, these projects continued to move forward, resulting in the completion of two beautiful, much-needed developments that are providing a total of 141 new homes for the Asheville and Beaufort communities.

East High Lofts, Sioux City, IA – Dec. 9th

This project transformed the historic East Junior High School into vibrant, modern apartments, marking an important step toward expanding quality, affordable housing in the community. It’s incredible to witness how once-vacant historic buildings can be thoughtfully restored into beautifully preserved homes that honor the past while serving a real current need in a community. We are proud to be part of this project that will make a meaningful difference for Sioux City residents, and we’re extremely grateful for the dedicated, knowledgeable partners who choose to continue to work alongside us to create positive, lasting impact.
