Melissa Van Dyke

Director of Human Resources

Office: Fond du Lac, WI

Focus: Providing leadership and guidance in all areas of Human Resources to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives.  Working closely with all Commonwealth staff to ensure their HR needs are supported.

Experience: Prior to joining Commonwealth, Missy worked at Suburban Electrical Engineers/Contractors in Appleton, WI as their HR Manager for 21 years.  Missy received her Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Fox Valley Technical College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Lakeland College.

Impressive Facts: Missy takes pride in establishing strong working relationships within an organization.  During her tenure at Suburban, she was most proud of the relationships she developed with, not only the Suburban employees but also their spouses.  Missy was heavily involved in benefits, which were often handled by the spouses of employees.  There were many that she would talk with, correspond with and have face-to-face meetings with to help guide them through their benefit choices.

Fun Stuff: Missy lives in Shiocton with her husband, Matt and they have two children, Nicholas and Elizabeth.  Missy absolutely loves cooking (she’s a Food Network junkie!) and enjoys exercising, spending time outside and doing anything with her family.

Commonwealth is a company that creates new living space, while at the same time preserving the city’s history and not increasing the carbon footprint.  I think that’s a wonderful legacy! I also love the fact that Commonwealth helps maintain a city’s structure.

Commonwealth has been extremely professional and courteous to the staff and the residents still living in our facility. They exceeded our expectations during the construction project as well as during the renovation of a 1923 school. Both projects have turned out to be beautiful and successful for our community.
