Commonwealth is excited to announce that another Wisconsin project has recently been awarded tax credits! “Spartan Lofts” received a LIHTC award from WHEDA on April 28th which will bring more valuable affordable housing to Sparta, WI. Read on to learn more about this upcoming community.
Spartan Lofts is a 40-unit, historic adaptive reuse of the previous Sparta Elementary School building that will provide 2- and 3-bedroom homes to individuals/families making at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). This development will have a community room, fitness and business centers, storage units, elevator, surface and garage parking, and an on-site property management office. We will integrate 8-units of supportive housing for individuals with disabilities and veterans making at or below 30% of the AMI. Residents of these units will have supportive services provided by the Monroe County Aging & Disability Resource Center and the Monroe County Veterans Services Office.
This project will be a great addition to our portfolio. We are committed to preserving the legacy of another historic school that was originally built in 1915, and help play a role in fueling Sparta’s economy for years to come!
