Historic Lexington School reopens as affordable senior housing in Grand Rapids

Historic adaptive reuse projects and renovations are always incredible to watch. You witness firsthand the progress as a building that has typically sat vacant for some time, often in a state of deterioration, transform into something that a community needs. Commonwealth is honored to play a part in addressing the housing crisis by developing these special buildings with their charm, character, and filled with memories, into unique, affordable homes. Lexington School Apartments is no exception. We were fortunate to have obtained this building in relatively good condition, which allowed construction to avoid major surprises and stay on completion schedule.
