Last week, Commonwealth Construction Corp./Brent Schumacher was honored to have received the Army National Guard “Patriotic Employer” Award, presented to a company/person based on their support of active duty employees. He was nominated by a colleague who is currently serving in Wisconsin and who also was deployed overseas in 2018-2019.
“My supervisor has been most supportive of my service in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. I found out I was going to Jordan (2018-2019) for my third deployment overseas, but this would be the first time leaving a wife and 4 children behind.”
The nomination listed things like company policy changes to better support active military employees, complimentary services (lawn-mowing, shoveling, etc.), and additional equipment from work as factors that really helped during the stressful times.
“When you leave behind loved ones, especially 3 boys under the age of 6 and a new wife who just took on the responsibility of both parents, it can be taxing on everyone.”
“Brent you are so deserving of this award and then some for the many things you have done for myself and my family. I am proud to be a part of the Commonwealth family!”
We are so grateful for our servicemen and servicewomen and proud to have received such noteworthy recognition.
