Vice President
Michael Ash is the Vice President for Commonwealth Development Corporation, focusing on development opportunities in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Commonwealth Development Corporation works with investors, lenders, state housing agencies and communities to provide affordable housing.
As Vice President, Michael is responsible for running Commonwealth’s office in Dallas, Texas, recognizing new real estate development opportunities, and managing new developments from the entitlement process through lease up.
Michael brings with him over twenty years of experience in the real estate and housing industry. Michael managed the multifamily lending and the affordable housing tax credit programs for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA). After leaving WHEDA, Michael worked for a multi-family housing developer on complex cutting-edge projects including mixed-use space combining affordable apartments, residential condominiums, retail, and public transit space as well as using historic and housing tax credits to develop walk-to-work housing, benefitting one of Wisconsin’s largest health care providers. He also has worked in the healthcare industry as a project director for a national design-build firm.
Michael holds a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Science Degree in Appraisal and Real Estate Investment Analysis, both from The University of Wisconsin-Madison.
